Pinglin Tea Farm

Pinglin – The Most Aromatic Tea Craftsmanship

Over 200 years ago, a group of tea farmers and tea masters from Anxi, Fujian, China, arrived in the Wenshan area and settled in Pinglin (locally known as Pingna in Taiwanese Hokkien).

Inheriting their ancestors' tea-making techniques and benefiting from Pinglin's unique climate and geographical conditions, they cultivated exceptional tea that became renowned worldwide. Among these, Wenshan Paochong Tea, known for its exquisite aroma, stands out. Tea farmers in the area have adopted sustainable farming practices, allowing the industry to thrive while minimizing its environmental impact and preserving water resources. Through these sustainable and regulation-compliant farming methods, the tea industry and the environment can develop in harmony.

Today, as a key transit point between Taipei and Yilan, Pinglin remains the last tea-producing region in the Wenshan area, preserving its centuries-old tea craftsmanship.

Terroir Shapes – Pingna Day

In Pinglin’s dispersed village settlements, every home is a tea factory. Most tea farmers are also tea masters, refining their craft through shared knowledge of tea plantation management and tea-making techniques. This exchange is key to crafting the perfect cup of tea for consumers to enjoy.

“Honoring tradition, embracing innovation”—more than just a philosophy, it’s a way of life. It’s about sharing Pinglin’s unique terroir and culture with the world. Come visit Pinglin, immerse yourself in its everyday charm, and experience Pinglin Day.

Pinglin Wenshen Paochong Tea

PINGLIN WENSHEN PAOCHONG TEA

The journey from vibrant green tea leaves to the beloved Paochong tea is a meticulous one, often taking an entire day. It starts with the careful gathering of fresh leaves, which are then laid out under the sun to wither, a gentle first step that harnesses the warmth of nature to start the transformation.

Paochong Tea is characterized by its dark green, strip-shaped leaves, an elegant floral aroma, and a refreshing, smooth taste. It presents liquor with a honey-green hue with a golden tint. Common fragrance notes include white floral scents such as jasmine, orchid, and gardenia, adding to its signature aromatic profile.

PINGLIN HONEY BLACK TEA

At the turn of spring and summer, Pinglin’s fresh tea leaves arrive as a gift from nature. The gentle kiss of small green leafhoppers imparts a unique honeyed aroma, filling the tea gardens with their natural aroma.

By blending Paochong tea craftsmanship with black tea processing, the interplay of stirring and fermentation creates a tea infusion where floral, fruity, and honeyed notes coexist in perfect harmony. The presence of golden-white buds marks its distinctive appearance, while its radiant red liquor carries a rich, honeyed sweetness—a flavor that lingers straight to the heart.

SPARKLING PAOCHONG TEA

Wenshan Paochong tea is renowned for its light fermentation and non-scented processing method. Crafted with care by skilled tea masters, it features a natural floral aroma and a honey-green hue — the signature traits of Paochong tea.

To invite more people to experience the charm of tea, we’ve combined Wenshan Paochong tea with sparkling water to create Pingna Day’s “Paochong Sparkling Tea.” This innovative drink offers a refreshing twist — the same floral fragrance and golden-green hue, now paired with fine, lively bubbles.

Whether for everyday enjoyment or a lively party, our sugar-free and alcohol-free Paochong Sparkling Tea is the perfect choice for a refreshing and elegant drink.

SPARKLING ORANGE SCENTED TEA

After launching the Paochong Sparkling Tea, Pingna Day introduced a new option to delight those who “can’t live without sweetness” or are more sensitive to the mild acidity of sparkling drinks — the Orange-Scented Sparkling Tea.

Inspired by Pinglin’s historical citrus-growing heritage, this drink blends the refreshing essence of local oranges with the elegant aroma of Wenshan Paochong tea. The natural sweet-tart flavor of citrus enhances the tea’s sweetness and harmonizes beautifully with the gentle acidity of the bubbles, creating a more layered and balanced taste experience.

Rooted in local culture yet tuned to modern preferences, this sparkling tea invites you to step into the “Pinglin universe,” where every sip captures the vibrant spirit and flavor of the land.
